I think that's the point of this thread, though - for some people, it's ceased to be funny. It's just getting tired and cliched.
I love Patrice, though. My favorite guest comic, outside of probably Louie C.K. But the whole "every white person is racist / everything is about blatant or latent racism" schtick is wearing on me.

I am way too lazy to do it but I could go through shit loads of youtube clips that are hilarious with Patrice in them that aren't focused on race or relationships... two that come to mind are the Patrice E-lo Negotiations and the Wesley Snipes in Jail bit.
He definitely talks about the two subjects a lot but I'm just not burnt out on it. You will not get such open and honest talks about race from black and white people together on any other broadcast in the entire country.

I like Patrice and think he can be funny. However sometimes the race shit does get old. Not enough to make me turn the channel though. There is still some funny to be had.

How can someone as smart as Patrice resort to the shittiest trick in the book - accuse anyone who disagrees with you of being a racist? Does he really think that? Is it a bit? I don't get it. Patrice gets on my fucking nerves sometimes on the show, but I would never call in to talk about it because I know that's what he'll do. Today it was a racial argument, but during his fight with Danny, he pulled the same shit on any caller who took Danny's side.
Do I think that certain races are inferior to others? No. Do I occasionally make broad generalizations based on my personal life experience, and do I occasionally make my initial judgement based on things like race? Sure. Everyone does. What does that have to do with the fact that I think Patrice can't argue on the show. He is so used to being the boss of his own life (he is obviously the boss of his relationship, and being a big scary black guy means most people won't fuck with him) that when he gets confronted like that, he panics and goes on the immediate offensive. But why does he have to use the cheapest, most unintelligent method in existence? I would have thought he could do better than that.

What I was trying to say
All I was trying to say this morning was that he needs to come up with some new material. How it got blown up into me being an old racist cat lady is something he dreamt up in his drama filled world. I would imagine if I all said over and over again is "I'm a lesbian, I'm a lesbian" you all would be tired of me reminding you of that.

Patrice has the greatest and most honest take on race. Although uncanny, his insight into the issue is amazing and revolutionary at times. He has a way to break it down the issue into the simplest components yet analyze each from a historical and social context. Finally, I think being the great comedian / artist that he is, he has a way of turning his own personal struggles and/or experience with racism into something provocative, uncomfortable yet funny at the same time.
If he was a professor, I would definitely take his class just to hear him lecture.

I think he does it more now as Anthony has become alot more blatant with his racist crap.
Though today was the first time I heard Op try to keep him in line when Patrice was constantlty talking over callers.

I do enjoy Patrice on the show. He obviously does speak about race and relationships quite a bit, but his insight on such topics is entertaining to listen to. There have been many times that I've either laughed heartily or have been in complete agreement of what he had been discussing.
I do think that many of you are wrong in thinking that all he brings to the table are talks of race and relationships. One thing I can think of recently is when he was on the show a few visits back when Bobo was "roasting" The Virus. He was fantastic that day. Not only did he contribute greatly to the Bobo segment at the end of the show, but he also killed during the rest of the show.
Upon further thought, I think that saying that most of his visits are all filled with speech about race and relationships is really just a generalization of what he talks about. He does speak about these things, and to great length. However, he really branches out within the spectrum of each and covers an entire range of topics within them. It is almost unfair to say that this is all he speaks about without listing the sub-topics that he has hit on.
As another poster has said prior to my post, Patrice has a wonderful way of getting down to each minuscule point in a way that isn't bleak or uninspiring for thought. It is refreshing to hear someone be able to do so with each new discussion that could fall under the umbrella for race or love. Even other topics, such as when he spoke about his family or how he feels about his recent chapter in his life, is refreshing to hear because he provides it with such a unique level if honesty from within. I don't think many people would be able to do so, time and time again.
My only complaint about Patrice is that he does tend to speak over people every so often. Today he was screaming over top of the woman that called in. I was glad that Opie did say something, because he almost hampered that call. I'll admit that while it can be incredulously frustrating to hear him speak over others, he usually does come through in the end and deliver anyway.
