Probably because she was resigning and probably looking forward to some jail time herself. She did say that she was going to face the consequences of her actions.
Giving him some time and warning was the best she could do considering.

I realize that they were setting up the movie, but I was really disapointed with the ending. The view of Jack's face from the UAV just seemed to cliche to me; I really think they could have thought through the ending and still set up the movie much better than they did.

Would granting Jack immunity have even mattered, though ? It wouldntve changed the fact that the Russians want him dead, as well as possibly people in Logan's camp, too.

I actually though that was really well done; Jack looking at the audience saying "thank you".

And that's fine, I guess the bigger issue is they stuck to everything they do. Jack/CTU have evidence, someone intercepts/destroys the evidence. For gods sake, you're ending the show, you can get out of your typical sandbox.
That said I do like what they did this season and I think they've set themselves up very nicely for the movie.

I think that they definitely stepped out of their sandbox as far as Jack going on a kill crazy rampage in the last five or six episodes. No matter how hurt or obsessed he's been over something he's never executed his enemies with such impunity before.

She said she was going public with what happened within the hour so after that her administration would be dead. Plus the pardon or immunity would have been made public since she would have been doing it in the middle of this scandal.
Imagine trying to explain Jack's actions to a press and a public that's already ripping you to shreds.
If she did the right thing from the beginning then she could have looked like a hero in spite of the talks falling apart.(Probably would have gotten something started down the road with the respect she would have gotten from the IRK for being honest). And she could have gotten Jack a pardon or immunity on the quiet side.
The minute she refused to sign the treaty and came forward about a conspiracy and her participation in it, her presidency was done.

Tell that to Christopher Henderson, Nina Myers, Dana Walsh and Victor Drazen. In fact I rememeber in the first season he stormed a building like a one man army to kill Drazen after falsely learning that Kim was found dead.

I think Season 7 came out so quickly because they had the season in the can alot earlier than usual since they started eary due to missing a year to the strike. But, there were virtually no extras on the set, and the S8 set looks to have some good stuff on it, so maybe theyre taking there time with it for that reason.

I haven't read one single post from a 24 thread, and here's why.
I never watched 24. It's one of those shows that you didn't avoid on purpose, you just never got around to watching. So now you just happen to start watching and find out you love it.
I recently talked with someone who was a Star Trek fan like myself, but never saw watched Deep Space 9. They just got all 7 seasons after watching the first few eps.
I felt jealous because I always wished I could "erase" my memory of a show/movie I loved so I could experience it all over again fresh and new.
I'm almost at the end of the first season (7 seasons on netflix instant), and I'm really diggin this show. I love that I now have something fresh and new to watch.

I'm doing the exact same thing with Lost, except using the torrents to acquire the show. Next on my server is The Pacific.
I might end up doing this with the Wire after the Pacific.

Was thinking about doing that with The Wire myself.
Fell behind on The Pacific so maybe over the summer I'll catch up on those.

Awesome, welcome aboard, Shaggz. Better late than never.
Oh, and those who are thinking about checking The Wire out on DVD, dont think about it, just fucking do it. Youre honestly doing yourself a disservice if you dont. The Wire is my all time favorite show and was easily the best show on television when it was on, no question about it.

I did the same thing with LOST a few months ago. Only I have my pc hooked to my tv and watched on hulu.com. The episodes on auto play just keep going. Could just sit and enjoy.

I tried the Hulu thing...but the quality just wasn't there. Even from my gaming rig, I noticed the tearing and "blockyness" from Flash. I have used HTML5 with youtube and it looks 5x better than Hulu. Hopefully Hulu will migrate sometime this year.
My media player does the same thing. I bought this but can't get linux working 100% quite yet so I am stuck with windows7 until I have time to fuck around with Nvidea drivers.
Linky. I'll open up a thread in the tech support discussion to show how I eventually get linux working.
This device with Boxee and the Boxee remote app is the shit. It is even girlfriend-proof.

Yeah, plus at the end of the day (wakka wakka) he still ended up signing the treaty. Would have been much easier to just sign and not abide by it like in real life.

I think he wanted it to fall apart before he even got NYC to sign it and without any linkage to Russia. Thereby not make himself or his country to look bad. Seeing that was not the case he still had to go along with it.
